David Clark is a partner in the Corporate department in the British Virgin Islands. He has over eighteen years experience with particular expertise in banking, M&A, project and film finance, capital markets, structured finance and restructuring. He regularly acts for major European, US and Asian banks and multi-national corporations in relation to complex cross-border financing structures and joint ventures.
David joined Appleby’s BVI office in September 2015, having been based in the London office since 2004. He trained at Clifford Chance, London where he qualified into the capital markets department and gained additional experience on secondments to the Hong Kong and Tokyo offices as well as to Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. David also spent three years with a major US law firm where he specialised in structured finance. He read law at the University of Cambridge where he received a B.A. and M.A.
David was named as a 'Leader in his Field' by Chambers UK 2015. Chambers UK 2014 recognised David as a notable practitioner. David was described by Legal 500 UK 2013 as someone who is "in tune with clients’ needs and expectations." Chambers Global 2013 has ranked David as a 'Leading Individual' and recognised him as an expert in project finance with considerable experience in the fields of M&A and capital markets.
