Christopher Spencer is an associate within the Corporate department in Jersey. He advises on all aspects of corporate, banking and finance and insolvency law and has extensive experience of working on high-value and cross-border transactions for commercial lenders, private equity houses, listed companies and private vehicles.
He also has experience of acting in relation to the establishment of fund structures (including various forms of partnerships and unit trusts) and regularly provides advice on regulatory matters for both funds and related service providers based in Jersey and elsewhere. Separately, Chris has provided advice to a number of secured parties in relation to the enforcement of Jersey law security (both under the 1983 Law and the 2012 law), particularly in the oil & gas and commodities sectors.
Chris joined Appleby in April 2012, having completed his training contract at Berwin Leighton Paisner in London. Prior to that, Chris studied history at the University of Durham before completing the GDL at Nottingham Law School and the LPC at the College of Law.
Chris was recently recommended by Legal 500 UK 2016 and referred to as being "extremely competent".
