Fiona Chan is a partner in the Corporate department of Appleby's Hong Kong office. Fiona has extensive experience advising clients on various offshore jurisdictions in the areas of banking and finance, corporate, funds and trust matters, and in particular focusing on unsecured and secured lending, asset financing, lending through fund structures and offshore trusts. Her recent practice involves advising clients on British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands law as well as involvement with Bermuda, Guernsey and Jersey laws related transactions.
Fiona has extensive experience in the offshore space through working at two other offshore law firms in Hong Kong prior to joining Appleby. She has also worked in the London and Hong Kong offices of Clifford Chance for ten years before entering the offshore field. Her experience spans the spectrum of banking and finance transactions including bilateral and syndicated lending, project and acquisition finance, asset-backed and property financing, energy and infrastructure financing, pre-IPO debt and equity finance, corporate restructuring/pre-insolvency and various forms of credits and securities.
Fiona is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
