Grant Thornton Advisors is a US-based tax and advisory services provider operating in an alternative practice structure alongside Grant Thornton LLP, a licensed certified public accounting firm that provides audit and assurance services. Together, the two providers go to market as the Grant Thornton brand in the US.
Grant Thornton Ireland is a leading global professional services firm with approximately 2,800 people in offices across the island of Ireland and in the Isle of Man and a number of other jurisdictions.
Appleby’s team was led by Garry Manley and also included Katherine Garrood, Alexandra Dernie and Josephine Bell (corporate), Caren Pegg (employment) and Juan Thornley (pensions). Appleby’s Guernsey office is assisting with transaction structuring matters, led by Dylan Latimer with assistance from Omolola Botsane.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in Q1 2025.
The Appleby team is working closely with William Fry and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, which are acting as joint lead counsel to Grant Thornton Advisors LLC.
