Larissa, an Associate in the Corporate department has a broad corporate and commercial practice, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings and reorganizations. Larissa also has extensive experience advising institutional clients and public bodies on complex regulatory issues.
Prior to joining Appleby, Larissa practiced with a top tier firm in Vancouver, British Columbia where she maintained a corporate, commercial and regulatory practice.
Larissa holds a Juris Doctor from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. She was called to the British Columbia bar in 2017. Prior to completing her legal qualifications, Larissa obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology, also from the University of British Columbia.

Ligaya, a Bermudian, is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution department. She has developed a broad practice in dispute resolution, as well as non-contentious regulatory and risk advisory work. Ligaya has experience working with local and international clients within the insurance, investment business, funds and digital asset sectors and has a keen interest in privacy and data protection frameworks.
Before joining Appleby, Ligaya worked with another offshore firm on the island. Prior to becoming a barrister, she served for nearly a decade as a biomedical scientist with various public and private healthcare institutions in Bermuda and abroad.
Ligaya holds a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) from The University of Law, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Bar Professional Training from City Law School at the University of London. She is a barrister of England & Wales (non-registered). Ligaya also earned a Bachelor of Science in medical technology from the University of Santo Tomas.
Ligaya is a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals and holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. Prior to completing her legal qualifications, Ligaya attained board certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology to practice as an International Medical Laboratory Scientist.
