Ben McCosker will join the Shanghai office as a Partner. Ben has over 16 years of offshore and onshore experience specialising in commercial litigation, restructuring and insolvency. He is highly regarded for his expertise in advising in connection with shareholder disputes, acting as lead advocate at first instance and appellate court level, and handling complex and multi-jurisdictional restructuring transactions involving offshore-incorporated entities listed in Hong Kong. He advises a broad spectrum of clients including creditors, shareholders, and companies in contentious and non-contentious special situations, insolvency, and restructuring matters. Prior to joining Appleby, Ben worked at Mayer Brown and prior to that at another offshore firm in their Hong Kong and Bermuda offices.

Mandy Qi will join the Shanghai office as an Associate. Mandy is a PRC licensed attorney, who specialises in corporate finance, private equity and venture capital investments, as well as other commercial and corporate law related matters and has also passed the New York Bar. Her clients include conglomerates, state-owned multinational investment management and financial services companies, leading PE/VC investors and TECH Venture Capitals. Prior to joining Appleby Mandy worked in the Beijing office of a leading PRC firm.

Stephanie Wang will join the Shanghai office as a Legal Manger. Stephanie specialises in structuring, formation, organisation and operation of private equity and venture capital funds. She counsels funds in all stages of their operations, and regularly advises them on fund formation and governance matters. Prior to joining Appleby Stephanie worked in the Beijing office of a US law firm.
