Christopher specialises in corporate and funds matters, in particular he advises on mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate group structuring, fund establishment and family office arrangements.  He has an impressive track record advising sovereign wealth funds, family offices, global corporations, private equity and venture capital investors and ultra-high net worth individuals in relation to a wide range of high-value, cross-border M&A, private equity and real estate transactions.

James Gaudin, Managing Partner, said: “I am delighted to have someone of Chris’s experience and calibre joining the Jersey office. He has extensive international experience and invaluable exposure to the Middle East, which further strengthens our ability to serve a diverse, global client base, as well as demonstrating the firm’s aspiration for growth.”

Christopher said: “I am tremendously proud to have joined Appleby. It is a highly regarded firm and one that I am delighted to be a part of. I look forward to getting to know the team here and across our many jurisdictions, and to building relationships with clients and reconnecting with contacts from around the world.

Despite a tumultuous year in the wider Middle East region, most GCC member states have performed well, continuing to thrive and expand in an increasingly diverse range of sectors.  We have seen many families and corporate groups taking steps to safeguard their investments through offshore holding structures and more sophisticated succession planning, spending their time and resources to properly consider which jurisdictions are best suited to housing their overseas investments.

Those of us working in Jersey’s financial services industry have seen sustained growth from mandates emanating from the Middle East region over recent years, cementing the Island as a popular choice for both private wealth and institutional structures.  This growth seems to be at an ever-increasing pace, so it is a great time for me to have joined Appleby to focus on this area of the business.”

Christopher’s appointment boosts the corporate team to 17 fee earners and 7 partners in Appleby’s Jersey office.
