The Appleby Shenzhen office will be the law firm’s 11th office worldwide and its second in Mainland China, demonstrating Appleby’s confidence in its long-term and stable development in the Chinese market. This marks Appleby’s 35th year in Asia, following the opening of its Hong Kong office in 1990. Appleby was the first offshore firm with a practice license issued by China’s Ministry of Justice and re-launched its Shanghai office in 2023.
David Bulley, Managing Partner of Appleby’s offices in Asia, commented “As the fastest growing offshore law firm in Asia, we are delighted to have received MOJ approval to provide offshore legal services to our valuable clients in Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area. This latest expansion in China demonstrates our commitment to the region, and the strength of our offshore offering in Asia and globally. Over the last four years we have expanded significantly both in Hong Kong and Mainland China and we look forward to continuing to do this in the coming months and years, with some further exciting announcements in the pipeline, as our global management continues to support our growth strategies in Asia and we look to continue to bring in the best lawyers and provide our clients with exceptional service”.
