Sophie was recognised as a winner under the achievement category in Gef’s 30 under 30. Sophie was promoted to Senior Associate in October 2022, just 4 years after qualifying which is very unusual and showcases her talent as a lawyer.
Sophie has been with Appleby for the duration of her legal career as her first work experience placement was with Dickinson Cruickshank (now Appleby), which then led to her being offered a training contract with Appleby in September 2015. She then qualified in November 2017 having sat and passed her Manx Bar Exams in May 2016.
Sophie has played a vital role on many of the corporate matters on which Appleby’s Isle of Man office has advised in recent years, including the acquisition of a major financial services group, a high-profile international merger and a complex separation of a financial services group. Sophie also co-authored an article in 2022 on the regulation of cannabis investments in the Isle of Man.
