Ryan has broad experience with commercial disputes and regulatory matters. Prior to joining Appleby, he practised at a leading corporate securities litigation firm in Toronto, Canada where he acted as counsel in numerous high-profile class action disputes, including those involving allegations of securities manipulation and corporate oppression, among others. Ryan has also been involved in arguing motions for equitable relief, including Mareva injunctions and Norwich applications, and has been listed counsel in more than a dozen publicly reported decisions.
Prior to embarking on his legal career, Ryan worked for one of Canada’s largest insurers where he focused on both property & casualty, and specialty lines.

Ryan obtained his Juris Doctor from Queen’s University and Bachelor of Science from Carleton University, both in Canada. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2020.
