The conference will focus on Fraud Litigation, Enforcement and Contentious Insolvency, helping attendees understand how to navigate changing times. With a presence of over 300 industry experts from over 30 different jurisdictions, attendees will get a better understanding of how different areas are tackling similar problems in the asset recovery world.

Alan Bercow is an English solicitor, a Cayman Islands attorney and a dispute resolution partner, who recently joined Appleby in the Cayman Islands from Stephenson Harwood in London where he was co-head of the Fraud and Asset Recovery Team, specialising in high value, complex fraud and asset tracing claims, often involving freezing orders, disclosure orders, anti-suit injunctions and gagging orders.

Also attending the conference will be representatives from our Dispute Resolution teams across a number of jurisdictions – Appleby Isle of Man’s Managing Partner, Mark Holligon and Associate, Phillip Cronje; Appleby BVI’s Group Partner, Olwyn Barry; and Appleby Jersey’s Senior Associate, Lara von Wildenrath.

Mark Holligon is the head of Appleby’s Isle of Man Dispute Resolution team, his expertise spans the contentious and non-contentious arenas, both onshore and offshore, with a focus on commercial litigation, insolvency and restructuring.

Phillip Cronje has experience in a wide range of disputes including: commercial, construction, property and insurance matters.

Olwyn Barry specialises in commercial litigation, regularly advising on a broad range of multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes with particular experience in shareholders’ disputes, applications for interim relief, and cross-border fraud and asset tracing litigation.

Lara von Wildenrath advises on all aspects relating to commercial litigation including trust disputes, insolvency proceedings and corporate disputes involving directors and shareholders.
