People who have historical convictions can now apply to have these removed from their record, which would result in any conviction, caution, warning or reprimand being considered never to have happened.  But this will not happen automatically – it requires a formal application.

If anybody needs help to make such an application, Appleby would gladly assist, confidentially and without charge.

Partner Garry Manley observed that: “Diversity, inclusion and belonging form a key part of Appleby’s corporate culture.  We are keen to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to have these historical convictions cleared from their records, and we firmly believe that if we can offer our skills as lawyers to ensure that this happens, we should do what we can to help.”

If you, or anybody you know, would benefit from this assistance, Appleby would encourage you to contact Garry or any of your usual Appleby contacts.
