Ida has more than 10 years of offshore and onshore experience specialising in cross-border contentious and non-contentious restructurings, having a broad range of experience, advising creditors and debtors on restructuring and insolvency issues both in and outside of court proceedings.  Ida has worked with teams from various jurisdictions on complex cross-border matters and has experience in dealing with various types of finance instruments, structures and documents.

Our Hong Kong Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring practice predominantly practices Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands and Bermuda law and covers the entire Asia Pacific region, with a focus in the current market on restructuring of China real estate debt issuers.

David Bulley, Managing Partner for Appleby’s Hong Kong office, said: “Our team has been in high demand in recent months initially due to the financial pressures in the Chinese real estate sector but, more recently, due to stress in the wider global market as inflation and increasing interest rate expectations begin to bite.  As a result we are currently advising on multiple debtor mandates.  This appointment reflects the continued commitment we have to growing our team and I’m pleased to be adding Ida’s expertise to the support we provide our clients throughout different stages of economic cycle.”
