Sangheetaa specialises in corporate and commercial law with her expertise encompassing a wide range of areas including, (re)insurance law, public and private mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, corporate restructuring, joint ventures, and strategic governmental and regulatory consultancy.

Prior to joining Appleby, Sangheetaa practised at another Bermuda law firm. She was recognised as the first Malaysian to be called to the Bermuda Bar in this century. Her professional background also includes significant tenure at one of the largest international law practices in Southeast Asia and the UK.

Sangheetaa holds an LLB with first-class honours from University of Leeds, an LLM with major in corporate law from University of Cambridge and completed the Bar Professional Training Course at City University of London. She was admitted to the Bar of England and Wales (Lincoln’s Inn) in 2011 and subsequently, to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of Malaya in 2014. She was admitted to the Bermuda Bar in 2024. Sangheetaa is recognised as a key lawyer by Legal 500 in the Corporate and Commercial category.
