Held annually on 8 March, International Women’s Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. The #InspireInclusion theme for 2024 focuses on how when we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we create a better world. When women themselves are inspired to be included, there is a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment.
At Appleby, we know that co-creation with colleagues is key to ensuring our own Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DIB) programme creates meaningful change. Our colleagues inspire inclusion by contributing to that programme and shaping our DIB strategy. We’re proud to deliver change which has been directly inspired by our team.
Here, three of our DIB Champions explain what #InspireInclusion means to them and its significance as the theme for this year’s International Women’s Day.
“International Women’s Day and the theme #InspireInclusion remind us that every woman’s voice adds to the symphony of progress. It’s a call to ensure every woman is heard, valued, and included. This inclusivity fuels innovation, fosters growth, and is vital for a balanced and thriving society.” – Nicky Viljoen, Isle of Man

“International Women’s Day and the theme #InspireInclusion reminds us that women should celebrate and be celebrated for their achievements. Women should also be kind to themselves and include self-care and awareness in their daily routines to navigate the challenges of life and constant change.” – Debbie Cowper, Cayman Islands

Our network of DIB Champions support inclusion in a way that is meaningful in each of our locations. They inspire us all – contributing their time, effort and expertise to ensure our work on DIB continues to be a collective effort.
